The future...


Hello humans, this is PlayerXT! And today...

... isn't the devlog sequel yet, yeah, the continuation of my messy development journey for Demo 4 will have to wait, because I need to talk about something extremely important...  the future! Not only of my development career, but of the world...

In other words, what I plan to develop in the future...

Starting with the cube...

There won't be a Be Cube...


(yeah!)

Okay, to be more specific, there won't be a Be Cube demo this year. I know Demo 4 was quick and brought a lot of new features, and that the game is growing more and more, but... guess what? I'm human... and humans get tired of things (yes, I was also surprised when I found out about this information). Of course, I'm not going to give up on Be Cube. At this point, it's easier for me to give up drinking coffee daily than to give up on this project...

And, for those who don't know... I NEVER GIVE UP ON DAILY COFFEE...

So, the game will continue, but I'm just going to take a break to refresh my ideas and stop dreaming about killer spheres.

Also, the next demo will include the stages in the electrical core, which, for those who don't know, were the most memorable stages of the beta versions and the first two demos, whether for the extensive level design or the glóbulos themselves, which were very memorable characters in the game's universe. There's also a viin with its own story, and... in short, this demo is going to be something big, and I want to take a breather before diving headfirst into it.

So, no, no Cube this year, but that doesn't mean I'll disappear completely (like I've done a few times here before, oh... good times), because...

First of all, as usual, I'll be participating in the Game Maker's Toolkit game jam, so you can expect a new creative mess in my game library (which will probably take me years to update).

And second, I'll do the unthinkable: I'll develop a new update for b17 into the system... that's right, I'll develop something... beyond the Be Cube franchise...

In fact, I've already started! 

(Because, apparently, my brain doesn't know what a vacation is...)

I know I also have other games waiting in the queue for a while longer (Blip in Loop and Deep), but for both of them, I'd have to recreate them from scratch in the new engine I'm currently using (which, for those who don't know, is a bit difficult). Especially Blip in Loop, which is a game I see great narrative potential in and want to develop more carefully. So... my goal is to do a light project before I return to the monster that is Be Cube. B17 seemed like a good option.

(Oh yeah, and I'll change that name, then... F for B17)

And I think that's it for now. Now I'll get back to enjoying my "vacation."
